Mmusi Maimane is a politician and the Federal Leader of South Africa´s opposition Democratic Alliance (DA) political party. He was previously the Deputy Federal Chair and the Parliamentary Leader for the DA. In March 2011 Maimane was nominated as the Democratic Alliance’s mayoral candidate for the City of Johannesburg. On 10 May 2015, he became the leader of the party. He has also served as Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly of South Africa since 29 May 2014.
He was a business consultant and trainer with a number of firms in South Africa and internationally. He also lectured at the GIBS Business Institute. Maimane holds a Masters degree in Theology and has a second Masters degree in Public Administration.
